Innovative and Efficient

Variobend drives are innovative and highly efficient. The drive concept combines the highest bending speed with the lowest power consumption. Compared to machines whose hydraulic drives work all the time (i.e. which run continuously) and therefore constantly produce noise and consume power unnecessarily, the motors of the Variobend long folding machines only operate when a movement occurs on the machine. The consequence of the constant maintenance of the maximum pressure in the case of machines which run continuously is that electricity is required all the time and a large portion of the pressure flows back unused into the hydraulic system.

Innovative and Effective – Variobend RP Motor Technology:

The innovative Variobend drive concept is significantly different to this however. Variobend motors only operate when they are needed. This means that not only is the consumption of the machine low, i.e. just 70 W in standby mode, but also there is no annoying noise from the motors or cooling units. As the maximum pressure of the hydraulic system is not required for every bow, Variobend has developed the RP technology.

The VARIOBEND RP technology therefore only develops as much pressure as is required for the bow. Therefore, no unnecessary pressure build-up is produced. The Variobend backgauge, which is driven by high-precision, maintenance-free ball screw shafts, ensures perfect positioning. Compared with backgauge controlled by toothed belts, the positioning accuracy is not lost due to decreasing toothed belt tension.

Through the conical bending feature, profiles can easily be inserted into each other and edged conically. The simultaneous use of both functions is also possible.

The electrical depth stop comprises a range from 5.0 to 1,000 mm, or optionally – depending on the insertion depth – up to 1,250 mm.

The user-friendly system enables new profiles to be drawn and dimensioned with a finger.

BENDING SIMULATION

In the simulation the entire bending sequence can be checked to ensure there are no collisions. With the Variobend double benders with automatic gripper system it is also possible to stipulate the gripper and finger stop position. In the subsequent automatic mode, the operator is guided through the entire bending programme and all metal sheet handling, such as rotating and turning, displayed visually and by text message.

PROFILE MANAGEMENT

The Variobend touch screen control system allows the entry of any number of profiles and folders. All profiles and folders can be freely named, saved and deleted again. By simply tapping and dragging it is possible to move both profiles and entire folders to a USB flash drive or an office workplace and store it there. High-quality industrial monitors guarantee precise execution of the finger commands.

SLOTTING TOGETHER – NARROW / WIDE EDGES

If the slotting together of profiles is enabled by the ZS button, this is represented by an additional blue profile contour. In this case, all the legs of the profile are conically chamfered by one material thickness.
